Anti-wrinkle Injections are placed into the target treatment area, using a purified protein. This works by relaxing the nerve signals’ muscles need to contract. It’s this repetitive contraction that causes expression lines and wrinkles. Once placed, they relax the muscles and decrease their movement to reduce or eliminate the appearance of unwanted lines.
Our injectable treatments are ideal for smoothing lines and wrinkles. This treatment can also be used to soften chin dimpling, shape eyebrows or slim the jawline. Injections into the jaw muscles can alleviate pain from teeth grinding, or migraines. They can even reduce excessive sweating.
Results appear gradually over 3 to 7 days and typically last between 3 to 5 months. Over time the body metabolizes the treatment, slowly restoring muscle movement to the area. Patients can maintain their results for longer by undergoing regular top-up treatments every 3 to 4 months.
Treatments usually take between 15 and 30 minutes.
Quick with minimal discomfort, anti-wrinkle treatments require no anesthetic or recovery time. Most patients report brief discomfort during the injection, which doesn’t persist afterwards. Bruising, swelling, redness or tenderness may occur around the injection site, but will resolve naturally after a few days.
When used correctly, muscle relaxants should not affect your ability to frown, look surprised, and make other facial movements. If you decide against further treatments, your skin will be left in the same condition it was before; it will not be any more wrinkled than it was prior to treatment.
Avoid aspirin, ibuprofen and excessive alcohol before and within 24 hours of the treatment to decrease the risk of bruising.
